Experience & background

Simon’s background is rooted in environmental science. He has worked in varied sales and business director roles, setting up his first business at 23 years old. He has grown Tyler Grange from 1 to nearly 100 people and lead it to successful growth through two recessions. After suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2014, which was brought on by stress and the unsustainable energy he was putting into his work, he learned some valuable lessons the hard way.

Simon is a mindfulness practitioner, focussing on the emotional fitness of his teams and the businesses he works with to help people be their most authentic selves, allowing companies not just to survive, but thrive. He’s also coached rugby at all levels for amateur and professional clubs winning the national volunteer of the year award at the National Rugby Awards in 2016.

Expertise

Simon has worked in the environmental sector for over 20 years. As a Board Advisor, he operates as the voice of the environment on the board, challenging businesses to develop and helping them scale.

He understands that business, culture, community and environmental issues are intrinsically linked. Every project he has been involved in over the past 30 years has been rooted in environmental benefit and business as a power for good. Tyler Grange gained B-Corp status in 2022 as a testament to this.

Simon holds a strong belief that people are at their best when they are able to be their most authentic selves. That’s why he places so much importance on emotional fitness, resilience and maintenance. He asks questions that challenge people to truly find out what they want and need to be their best. Simon was instrumental in pioneering a four-day week at Tyler Grange and led the business through the UK four-day week pilot programme with great success.
